I simply start from wood, and all the rawest materials I can lay my hands on, and build.
I use mostly hand tools -- planes, chisels, pencils, mallets, sharpening stones.
All of my work is accomplished without the aid of CNC computerized cutting.
I create my own tailpieces, from the design, to the wax casting, to the oven, to the brass, to the polishing.
Each and every join is first chalk fit to ensure a perfect mating surface, and then assembled with hot hide glue.
The search for perfection is visible from the inside of the bowl, evidencing the perfect fit of even 34 staves..
My finishes are all-natural and practically, if not recommended, edible. They smell great going on and in the finished product.
I simply like to live for beauty.
